Chuanyan's Vision
I has a strong vision to translate for the western world some of the most influential Chinese classics, especially those that deal with traditional Chinese medicine and Zen Buddhism.
As an earnest student of the holistic therapies such as herbal medicine and acupuncture as well as having been trained as a Zen Buddhist monk, I firmly believe these are both extremely helpful complements to a society dominated previously by Abrahamic religions and currently by scientism. Zen Buddhism provides unique and very creative spiritual insights into those eternal questions around topics such as the soul, the self, the universe, birth & death, and the ultimate purpose of human beings.
In some senses, Zen Buddhism's methodology is completely different to that of Catholicism, Protestantism, Orthodoxy, Judaism or even Ancient Greek polytheism. Meanwhile, the Chinese medical system is more about philosophy or worldview than about mere technical knowledge. It views the human body as a micro-universe and recognizes the close interaction between the physical body and the state of mind, viz. the visible (symptoms) and the invisible (mood, personality, even one's faith). All these perspectives and insights would definitely bring new inspiration and vitality into western society.
I look forward to cooperation with individuals and publishing agencies who share the same interests, and aspire to introduce these classic texts to the western world to make changes at both the individual and societal level.
